The latest release from The Antlers, Undersea is incredibly well titled, giving the listener a feeling of somehow being in an under water environment full of seafoam greens and bubbles dancing around calm exotic sea-creatures.
In fact, calm is just the word I would use for this one- a very relaxing record. Some other-worldly sounds courtesy multi-instrumentalist Darby Cicci, and wispy vocals of Peter Silberman lend to the EP’s “simplistic-complexity.”
Undersea is out now on ANTI Records (infamous old home to Dead Man’s Bones who have yet to explain their recent random update to their Facebook Fans—but we are keeping out ears t to the ground).
Only hours ago these guys hit the stage of @TheGlasslands in New York- an event which went on sale only this morning, and sold out in minutes.
Supported by Port St. Willow, The Antlers performed the evening’s event (booked by PopGun) to benefit Charity: Water.
I’m a total sucker for bands that give back in a big way; and 100% of the proceeds from the show went to the organization, which provides clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries.
Any and all public donations also go directly to the effort.
