Broken Social Scene’s Brandon Canning (also a member of the band Cookie Duster) will score Paul Schrader’s upcoming film The Canyons (starring Lindsey Lohan written by Bret Easton Ellis). The film is set in present day Los Angeles, following the lives of some young + distraught adults. 

Unlike the experienced composer (Canning has scored Trigger + The Tracey Fragments among others) another indie fave is set to make her scorring debut next year. Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis will pen the soundtrack for Very Good Girls, a film starring Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen.

Lewis is also currently at work with Rilo Kiley creating a b-sides release.
