If you somehow missed music news as a whole yesterday, let us bring you the joyous news that Fleetwood Mac will be reuniting to tour next year in 2013!
No dates have been announced yet, but Stevie Nicks confirmed with CBS News Wednesday morning that “it is the plan”.
Maybe to some, like us, this comes as a surprise. After all, Mick Fleetwood had told Playboy Magazine less than three months ago that he did not think Fleetwood Mac would ever tour again. He noted that Stevie Nicks was focusing on her solo career and that the band supported her endeavor. Both she + Lindsey Buckingham have been working avidly on their own solo projects since the band went on hiatus back in 2009.
So was Mick’s statement a cover up to keep this wonderful announcement safe? Perhaps not, but either way we are quite happy for the change of heart and the resulting news of the tour.
The reunion will include almost all of the classic 1970s line-up intact. Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie are reported to be joining forces on the stage. Singer Christine McVie will not be part of this reunion.
