WATCH Foals covering “One” (Swedish House Mafia)
We’re doing Cover Songs on Wednesdays now @ Blue Sky + since Foals have been hanging around the Billboard “Music Charts” lately, I thought we’d share their cover of Swedish House Mafia’s “One” with you today.
Hope you enjoy it! Either way, let us know what you think!
I really got Favebook comments to work properly this time so should be a breeze ;)
Here’s a peek at music that’s on the charts this week. A full detailed report will be in this week’s copy of BSHR Magazine June Edition.
UNCHARTED

- Foals spent their 6th week on uncharted, this week at #16- their highest position yet.
- Niki + The Dove share their 3rd week on the chart, also at their highest point- #19
- Moonspell celebrates a 2nd week on uncharted, up from last week to #25
- And also repeating their 2nd week “uncharted” is Blood Red Shoes at #41 this week.
NEXT BEST SOUND’S Top 25 artists included #8’s Djr3hab and Niki + The Dove in at #14.
Adele’s ‘21’ is now at 68 weeks on the Social 50 Chart. Last month the album passed 9 Million Sales in the U.S. alone.
Also on the Social 50 is Skrillex at #3 and Tiesto hangs in there at #48 just one safer than last week.
HEATSEEKERS

We are excited to announce that the Continued Silence (EP) from Las Vegas band and another Blue Sky fave, Imagine Dragons has been on the Heatseekers Albums Chart now for 12 weeks. This week they soared to #2 on the charts.
The greatest gainer was #5 this week and one of our favorites- Never Trust A Happy Song
from Grouplove
And spending his 3rd week as a “Heatseeker” is Father John Misty who hold the #7 sport this week with his release Fear Fun
They were #2 last week, but this week (their 2nd charting) Otherwise comes in at #9 with True Love Never Dies.
Also dropping but still up there: in the 59th week The Head And The Heart are at #10 with their self-titled release. The band has made it to #1 in the past with this album, but they are up one from last week’s position.
And it’s the debut of Cherri Bomb who’s record This Is The End Of Control takes #11.
Electric Guest holds on to the #25 spot with Mondo. This is their 4th week on the chart. They are up from #32 last week but down from #11 which was their highest so far.

I wanted to share the Moog from the Google Doodle with you yesterday. I caught it early on in the morning and thought “wow I will be one of the first to share this!” Then I started playing it. Big mistake. Needless to say between that and booking a festival and launching a business network, I suddenly found the day gone and so many Google Moog articles up that it really seemed pointless.
Much of the same feeling may be found today when going to google.com. After all, we have omnibars to do our “googling” these days. Why couldn’t Google keep it’s ode to the great-beyond-measure Robert Moog? Surely we need a digital synthesizer in our lives each day.
I am mostly joking. Really how much work got done in tech offices around the world yesterday while workers were playing “Cars” and Daft Punk on the Google Moog? Google’s home page being that addicting everyday may be the fall of our economy + civilization all together. They were looking out for us! (99% joking)
I still found myself abnormally upset that the “Moogle” had transformed back into a “Google” even before midnight PST. That is, until I remembered something from the years of browsing the internet’s most productive tools.
Google has a ton of hidden gems, one of them being the Google Doodle archives, where luckily the Robert Moog Google Doodle Memorial will stand proud + function for as long as the internet exists.
Plus, for those less “Funk”-y days, there is a Les Paul tribute of the Doodle that is amazing as well and also was/is able to record and send.
Moog, Les Paul, Google… you complete us (but really, thanks for the genius, the innovation, and the endless inspiration).
Here is where you may find the Doodles (hopefully after business/school hours):
www.google.com/doodles/robert-moogs-78th-birthday
www.google.com/doodles/les-pauls-96th-birthday
And if you find yourself needing an educational break, we highly recommend reading Robert Moog’s short auto-bio he wrote at only 17!
Enjoy + Make Music!
Oh and send it to us!

Two years ago, we were able to enjoy Beck’s Record Club. I am sure most of you know what it was about, but if you don’t, let me explain to you one of many amazing ideas Beck had: a musical project which consisted in teaming up with his favourite musicians to cover complete records in just one day at his studio.
I am showing you the first song covered in Record Club Number 4: Guns In The Sky, a cover of the album Kick by INXS. In this edition, the musicians joining Beck were: Liars, St. Vincent with Daniel Hart (who played the violin for St. Vincent) Sergio Días (from Os Mutantes) and Brian LeBarton.
Today, Beck announced his new single, “I Just Started Hating Some People Today”, to be released via Jack White’s Third Man Records on May 28th. You can listen to previews of the new songs here.
